This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portrait of Dona Isabel de Requesens designed from a painting by Raffaello Sanzio shows an elegant noblewoman seated in a striking red gown and matching hat who famously governed as the Vicereine of Naples, which was under Spanish rule at that time.  She, in fact, held a position in high esteem.  As a viceroy's wife, her duties consisted of taking on the patronage of writing brilliant letters of influence and orchestrating ceremonial duties, often hosting high society gatherings and even representing the Crown. She filled her active court with artists and intellectuals. played an active, highly influential cultural and political role, acting as a key patron.  Her striking red dress dominates the scene and serves as a point of notice, as she would be noticed wherever she went in that dress.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
