This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Going to Church designed from a painting by George Henry Durrie shows people arriving at the church from their homes to attend their weekly Sunday service at the church. It is winter and everyone is bundled up prepared for the winter season. Some have arrived by a horse-drawn sleigh while others who live closer have walked to church. In spite of the blustery cold, the sun is shining that morning in the scene, and all who are attending are hopeful for a good service, something that is thought-provoking, causes one to become introspective and prepared to submit to a call to action. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
