This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Fighting Temeraire designed from a painting by Joseph Mallard William Turner shows an aging 98-gun ship of the line being towed up the River Thames toward its final berth by a dark paddle-wheel steam tug as the sun sets in a blaze of fiery light. As someone who appreciates iconic maritime history like myself, I find the crisp scent of salty sea spray and warm coal smoke drifting on an evening breeze easy to imagine. Every delicate reflection captures the luminous splendour of sunset across soft water, making this historic seascape a special project to stitch.  Our patterns use only full cross stitches. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
