This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled View of the Delft, designed from a painting by Jan van der Heyden, shows meticulous, intricate detail of an urban setting with extreme detail down to the actual brick and mortar structure of the buildings. The street or major thoroughfare is tree-lined on one side with large brick buildings, a canal, a cathedral, and people milling about engaged in their transactions and socialization. The season happens to be autumn, and the trees and buildings are spectacular in their autumn colors. To set those colors off, the sky is a beautiful butter yellow with a few striations of clouds in the midst. It seems to be a lovely day. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
