This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Henriette Sontag designed from a painting by Paul Delaroche shows a formal portrait of a famous German coloratura soprano (opera singer) that was completed in 1831. The artwork was done in Academicism and Romanticism styles combined which exhibited both realism and emotion. Henriette performed for shows in North America and Europe where she was well-known and successful. She retired from performing in 1830 and then returned to the stage in 1848. If you are an opera lover, this would be the pattern to stitch and pay tribute to a great performer. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
