This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled The Swing designed from a painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard shows a woman on a swing getting lost in the exuberant joy of flying through the air. One man is watching her from the front, while another is pushing her in the swing. It has been said that one of the gentlemen in the court made a provocative move and specifically asked the woman to take a ride in the swing because he preferred and enjoyed watching her from below. Whatever the case may be, this artwork is considered to be one of the artist's masterpieces. There are large trees in the garden, and we can see light filtering in from the sun to illuminate the scene. The sky of cerulean blue acts as a heavenly backdrop and highlights the glow of the flowers. The entire picture just has that beautiful appeal of enchantment and beauty. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
