This animal counted cross stitch pattern entitled Northern Spotted Owl shows a large owl with dark soulful eyes (which can be very intimidating). It is a very distinguished looking bird perched on a limb in the forest. Its plumage of feathers is brown and gold with white flecks. Characteristically this is a nocturnal bird that catches its prey by using the perch-and-pounce method snatching up its prey before it’s even noticed. This indeed is a beautiful bird and is currently considered an endangered species in Washington, California and Oregon. No blended colors are used in our patterns. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect. Only full cross stitches are used in our designs.
