This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Arabs Crossing the Desert designed from a painting by Jean-Leon Gerome shows a small group of men riding camels across the hot, scorching sands of the desert. The heat is so intense that the view appears hazy and arid, and the camels have kicked up some of the dust. Of note is that the men are heavily covered to avoid the intense rays from the sun, and the clothing and wraps also protect the men from breathing in the sand and dust and getting it in their nostrils. There are distant hills noted in the background. The sky is blue without any clouds. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
