This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Morning Light Roman Campagna, designed from a painting by William Stanley Haseltine, shows the low-lying areas with trees in silhouette surrounding the city of Rome, which is called the Campagna. Here we see the landscape at early dawn with the sun just breaking through the clouds, casting shadows on the ground. Rays from the sun appear to be coming down from the clouds as the darkness of the skies recedes from the scene. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we use a variety of solid colors to achieve a more realistic effect.
