This lighthouse counted cross stitch pattern entitled Portland Bill Lighthouse shows the lighthouse in Dorset England with its characteristic large band of red with white on top and bottom.  It measures 135 feet tall and was completed in 1906.  It's main purpose was to guide ships through passages of hazardous waters around the Bill, as well as guiding ships through the English Channel. If you listen closely, you can practically hear the water thrashing up against the cliffs.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used in our patterns. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect. Only full cross stitches are used in our designs.
